Tysons Corner Center is proud to be a community partner. We strive to
meet community challenges through a combination of employee
volunteerism, financial support, in-kind donations and partnerships
with non-profit organizations which have missions consistent with our
vision and values.
Community Partnerships
Ronald McDonald House Charities
Many families have to travel far from home to get treatment
for their seriously ill or injured children. The Ronald McDonald House
keeps families together by offering them a comfortable, temporary
residence in close proximity to the medical facility. Each House
provides a warm, supportive alternative to costly hotels and
uncomfortable hospital waiting rooms. Families enjoy home-cooked meals
and can sleep in private bedrooms at the Houses. The RMHC provides a
great volunteering opportunity for Tysons Corner Center to contribute
to the community through our corporate Macerich Volunteer Program.
Employees donate their time and energy by preparing home-cooked meals
for family and by assisting with light groundskeeping and housework.

Fairfax County Parks & Recreation (Nottoway Park/Nottoway Nights)
Tysons Corner Center volunteers on a regular occasion in
assisting with the Fairfax County Summer Concert Series held at
Nottoway Park. From using our expertise assisting with traffic control
and parking, to passing out fans and brochures, Tysons Corner Center
volunteers are happy to assist with whatever is asked of
us.Periodically, volunteers will assist with moderate to heavy
landscape in helping to rid the park of foreign and invading plants and
weeds. For more information on the performance series, please visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/performances.
Tysons Trekkers
Tysons Corner Center invites you to join the Tysons Trekkers
Mall Walking Club, a free walking program at Tysons Corner Center. The
mall provides a comfortable and convenient environment to help you walk
your way to fitness and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Participants are
encouraged to walk at their own pace and keep a daily log of their
mileage. Program hours are Monday through Saturday, 6am - 10am and
Sundays, 6am - 11am. Tysons Trekkers receive a free T-shirt and special
discounts from many of the mall's stores and restaurants. Additionally,
a registered nurse from Fairfax Hospital provides free blood pressure
screening every other Saturday morning. To obtain a registration form
or for more information, call Guest Services at (703) 847-7300. Please
consult your physician before participating.
Fairfax County Public Schools Classroom on the Mall
This specialized program enables Fairfax County Public School
students in grades 11-12 to learn business organization, as well as
operation skills and techniques in a realistic business
setting. Classes are held at Tysons Corner Center and several other
area malls. Traditional classroom instruction in marketing,
merchandising, and management is enhanced by the opportunity for
students to meet and work with professionals in the retail industry.
Students attend their base schools for regular classes and then travel
to Tysons for both classroom instruction and related on-the-job
training.
Contribution Requests
Each year, Tysons Corner Center will contribute a preset amount of funds in the form of Gift Cards, merchandise and use of property to a diverse group of organizations. Hundreds of requests are anticipated each year. Donation recipients may include civil organizations' education programs; food banks; foundations; hospitals and healthcare organizations; youth programs; performing arts and museums and many more. Each request is reviewed carefully, however, not all requests can be granted.
